You don’t have to worry when I am at your side,
Encircling my arms around you—feeling safe inside.
I’m just feeling thankful for a heavenly sign
Holding you forever until the end of time
When you feel exhausted or burned out at both ends,
I’ll give you a backrub, touch you with my hands.
I don’t profess a power or think I can heal you;
I’ll just try my best to keep on loving you.
In the morning as you stretch out on the bed,
I refrain from speaking or wishing I were dead;
Lord can’t always give us all the time we need.
